‘What We Do’ and ‘What We Aim For’
is far more important than what the name stands for.

  • Phab is a national charity based in Croydon.

  • Phab’s aim is to promote and encourage people of all abilities get together on equal terms, to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community.

  • One of the ways it does this is through the nation-wide network of Phab Clubs.
  • Phab was founded in 1957 resulting from a discussion among a group of young people at a National Association of Youth Clubs holiday. Terry Rolfe, a young disabled man who took part in that discussion, explained that he believed that disabled people wanted “opportunity and not pity”.

  • Lord Snowdon is Phab’s Patron. Ed Stewart is the Phab President and Rolf Harris and Sir Cliff Richard are two of its many Vice Presidents.
